I didn't want to hijack the previous thread so I started a new one...

For the people who have put thes rotors on, a few questions...

1. What is your driving style?

2. What kind of pads did you pair with these rotors?

3. Do you notice a lot of noise or dust?

4. How many miles do you have on the rotors?

I've put off the rotors long enough. I was planning on putting on the Power Slot slotted Cryo Rotors, but I'm trying to determine if they are really worth the extra $70. I've got a long history of warping rotors b\c I have a lead foot so any feed back would be very appreciated.

Edit: fixed typo

I have slotted and drilled rotors. My driving style is like I'm in NASCAR. I paired mine with semi-metallic at first but after a week my rims were entirely black. Went to ceramic and never wash the truck for the reason of the rims being black. They still get dusty but it's nothing like the SM pads. You will want to get some brake pads grease. These will vibrate the pads more than a regular rotor and can cause noise. I got 2 packets for like 99 cents each and coated the BACK (not front) of the pads, anywhere the pads touched the caliper (metal to metal), and the guide pins. No noise for over 1 1/2 years. I've put on about 15-20k miles on mine and no warping or cracking. I got them from rrotors on e-bay for $115 total for both. (just the front);)

I have drilled and slotted, and I drive a little more aggressively than the average driver. I love them, I have them paired with sm pads... waaaay to much brake dust for my chrome rims, will be changing to ceramic when i have time to do it.

Woh! Hey Big D, did you purchase rotors from us?

Got mine from eBay as well. Going with EBC Green Stuff pads. Planning to get them on the truck in the next month or so.

I'm curious about the breaking performance and wear characteristics of both the rotor and pads with the semi-metallic versus the ceramic. I’m not concerned with the brake dust (at least not yet).

Yardsale, here is an answer from tirerack.com.;)

According to durability tests, ceramic compounds extend brake life compared to most other semi-metallic and organic materials and outlast other premium pad materials by a significant margin - with no sacrifice in noise control, pad life or braking performance.

Here is the link i got it from.

These are from RotorPros. I really can't say they stop any better. Not much dust at all. I went with whatever the seller sold me for pads, they are not ceramic.

It's my experience that Ceramic pads don't last as long as semi-metallic pads. The hard ceramic compound tends to be a little more rough on the rotors. However, if you are talking about performance, they do perform better than semi-met pads because they are more heat absorbant. I think Stoptech wrote an article on that too.
