Power Steering Fluid

I need to top off my power steering fluid, I noticed in the manual for my 2004 Sport Trac 4x4 XLT that the tranny fluid calls for Mercon V and the Power Steering Fluid calls for Mercon. I know I have to use the Mercon V in my trans but can I use Mercon V in my Power Steering? Thanks peeps! :banana:

Oh and if it is ok, can I use the Ford Mercon V Synthetic Blend?

Yes.

If you have never replaced fluid. Do that. I did my '04 with merc v.

Used a siphon bulb, then refilled. Drove it and siphoned and refilled again.

Good method Eddie. Same with a brake flush, start by removing old fluid in the reservoir first. Complete P/S flush:

I use Mobil 1 ATF in mine.
