Problem With The Door

Drivers door........ Sometime un-locks...... sometimes doesn't. Also when is doesn;t un-lock i cannot un-lock it with the key. Any suggestions:huh:???????? I bought a new door latch i will install this weekend. Friend said they were pretty common in the 1st gen ST.

Actually the actuator rivets were known for failing, It could just need a new rivet or a new nut and bolt..

If the key wont work either there is a linkage loose...

It could also be your door lock actuator sticking. Of course, the latches do have a tendency to break springs inside and jam up.......

i have the exact same problem....

sometimes it'll unluck with the remote soemtimes it wont,

and it wont unluck with the key either.

what is really wrong with it??

The rivet is a common failure. I would look at this first as it is such a high failure rate and a cheap fix as compared to buying parts...
