Todd:

I have CD error message on 6 disc unit after removal and replacement, I believe during removal and reinstall, I perhaps dislodged something in the radio. I know you did a repair on a unit, can you give me any advice.

Thanks

I literally tore mine apart after buying it used and it was shipped with no shipping bracket installed.

It is pretty intricate, not an easy job and I have the tools for the job. I spent four hours on mine. Not worth the effort in my opinion due to what they can be bought or replaced with a newer style HD radio.

Also, there are two fuses that power the radio. Pull them both and then it will reset. Pulling only one will not do it.

Thanks Coastie, I actually had the radio totally disconnected so there was no power, I believe this is same as reset by removing fuses. I think it is mechanical, I am concerned about hooking factory subwoofer and amp to aftermarket HU. I know it has been done.

thanks

definitely time to upgrade to aftermarket. like coastie said, you can get a lot for a little. and if you get an aftermarket radio with sub controls, you'll be able to control the volume of your factory subwoofer separately from your door speakers. four hours to repair factory radio, or aftermarket..........

p.s. stock sucks :D:D:D
