I am removing the hinges on my Trac. On the drivers side door there is a cyclinder shaped object that Im assuming houses the electrical wires for the power doors and mirrors. How can i remove that?

Help, please!!

There's a cap on top and once removed (it just snaps on/off) you will see a bolt that holds the two halves of the connector together, 10mm socket if I remember correctly ....... maybe 8mm ????

Why are you removing the hinges if I might ask?

Steve- I think Andres bought the "Lambo" Vertical Door Hinge Kit. (12/13/09 Post)

I so didn't WANT to think that...............:smile0001:

It's such a really nice dark blue Trac!

To each his own though.:smile0016:

The Trac only looks strange when he opens the front doors. (Probably often) LOL

In my young days I did some stuff to my V-Dub Beetles that I'm sure caused some heads to shake so I won't put anyone down for "personalizing" their ride. The "purest/rational" (old) side of me now just takes over! I just cant bring myself to make irreversible mods anymore.:smile0005:

It's going to be a challenge to mod the wiring so it folds up without breaking wires when the doors shut. Guess you could do manual windows though.........

I dont care for lambo's either but to each there own. Im suiciding the doors on my bagged ranger right now. My thought is if you are having problems taking off a door hinge you probably should not be doing to many custom mods. Thats just my opinion , i guess you have to start somewhere tho.
