I have to do a report for one of my classes, in doing so, I am going to interview a bailiff.

Looking for suggestions of questions.

Thanks....

- Have ever had to pull out your gun in the courtroom?

- What training is required to be a bailiff?

- What is the strangest thing you have ever seen in the courtroom?

- Does the judge wear pants under that robe? ;)

pay?

hours worked?

vacation time?

is your job part of the county sherriffs office, and do you have to rotate prositions with other officers?

Judge Judy (Scheindnlin 'sic) still gives me many Nightmares and Flashbacks,

'till this day!!!!

She is one "Evil Woman"!!!.

Ask him if he can fix a ticker for you

Just kidding. I think most of the good questions have been already covered.

What's the subject/topic of the report? That will have a lot to do with what questions to ask.

Also, do you have a bailiff already lined up to interview? Are you needing one? My grandma was a bailiff until she retired a few years ago. I don't remember when exactly she retired--I'm guessing she held the job well into her sixties, if not seventies. I suspect she'd get a kick out of being interviewed if you needed a subject, and if the topic of the interview was germaine to her experience.

Was Bull one of your heros? How about Selma?

"Night court" loved that show ha ha

You should shadow a court bailiff for a day. *if your schedule will allow*

You would come up with all kinds of questions...plus it would be interesting!

just an idea. :)

GM,

Good idea! Of course, G.M. always has good ideas!!!;)

(Please don't hurt me!! I PROMISE I will keep my day job!!! (At G.M.!))

First, thanks for the ideas.

Second, I did go to court but,,,, it ended up going NOTHING like the norm. Ohhhhhh it was very interesting, but in almost no way did it follow the normal process.

Basically, the defendant was border line in his mental capacity, I think it was stress more so then an imbalance. But, he ended up in leg braces, (which are worn under the pants so the jury can not see them and assume negative thoughts), as well as a shock belt. Once the 5 deputies put the shock belt on him he was MUCH less aggressive... LOL

Still very verbal and excited, but no more jumping up and flipping off the court and witnesses.... LOL
