Oh, I don't know. I was looking at some hoses on eBay and noticed a lot of silicone hoses for coolant system use. These were cut-from lengths, not molded to spec. I was just wondering if any of the Trac family has used silicone hoses, be it cut-from or specific?
Silicone hoses will last longer and more blowout prevention. I wouldnt' do it unless they are molded to fit. All the curves and bends in todays cars. I would hate to spend the $$ on cut peices and have kinks. That would cause restrictions and, put the inner core in a strain.
One sujestion I have. Go to a parts store and compare the molded hoses. To a 4.6L 'stang. If they are the same or close to not kink. Buy the silicone ones for the 'stang.
Gone are the days when we could use universal hoses....LOL
I heard that the hose was much more pliant and soft and was prone to collapse from the force of suction from the water pump? I dunno, heard it somewhere. Bob
