Has anyone had to replace the radiator yet. If so was it an aftermarket and how hard is it to do. Do I need to pull the fan?

Thanks,

Bob

bob,

You need to pull the Fan, shroud, transmission cooling lines ( if an automatic)....

The R&R on the rad with the proper fan clutch tool is a 20 min job....

IT will take longer to warm the truck back up to bleed the air out of the system...

1800Radiator has good quality and most of the time they next day ship...

You can use a big wrench, but after using the clutch fan tool at Todd's house it will save

your knuckles in the long run...

They are around 25-30 bucks at pep boys or your local auto parts store.

as rob said, many places "loan" or "rent" the tools cheep or for free......

Don't try it without it, you may do more bad then good...

I would lend you mine, but the thing is heavy and the shipping would be more then a rental..

Is there enough room to just loosen the shroud around the fan and just let it sit on the fan while you replace the radiator? Just curious . . . I did the body lift and it seemed that you could do it that way.

Scott,

You probably could, But I would not risk it, Since I have the fan tool I would just take it out of there...

More room for my fat A### to get in there to work....:eek::lol::lol:
