There was a previous post about this concept car and everybody hated it...everybody except me. I remember thinking,"whoa. That's a sweet looking car." Now I realize why it struck a chord with me...check out the similarity to the Batmobile from the Batman animated series...sorry couldn't resist.

I usually think that concepts are kinda neat, but they missed the mark on this one...to me it just looks like ropocop helmet with wheels attached.;)

Its got potential ;)

Its not really about the looks, its more about whats under the body!

I think it looks pretty cool myself. I doubt the production model would keep the Super Chief grill. It is based on the Mustang platform just stretched. There was a photo in the Autoweek I got in the mail today.

What, nobody else can make a 4 door sedan chopped? Check the Detroit Auto show, Ford is not the only one. The Front end looks nothing like a 300.

I agree, Greg.

The 300 is a rip off of a long-established look, albeit with a decidedly American twist with the low looking roof line and small greenhouse.

So what if Ford is trying to (finally) make an appealing V8 RWD sedan? At least, I hope it's RWD. The Americans and Japanese are obsessed with the FWD sedan thing. Build a proper RWD sedan that has decent power and decent looks, with a decent interior. Rip off the Germans, they've got the formula down pretty well. Shoot, just import a Falcon/Fairmont and be done with it.

If that grill stays, then it will be only a matter of time before this "gangsta" car takes off with the urban yoots, and they mimic that grill by putting the Ford oval on their front toofisses.

You got it, Truc Trac. Honda would work too.

Autoweek.com calls the Interceptor best Concept at the Detroit Autoshow! The Jaguar C-XF is Best in Show.

BEST CONCEPT: Ford Interceptor

“No matter what you call it, this Ford sports sedan based on a stretched Mustang chassis is one hot concept. We can only hope Ford takes the next step to put this pony car for the family man into production as soon as possible,” said AutoWeek Editor and Associate Publisher Dutch Mandel.
