Does anyone have any tips on doing the rear brakes....I'm planning on doing them tomorrow morning. I looked in the projects section but nothing but the fronts in there...hmmm I should take pics and submit them

There easy just do one side at a time if your new to it so you can look back if you forget something. The little tools for the springs is nice also. Wear SAFETY GLASSES i learned this the hard way on my other truck a few years ago. Good luck there not hard but intimidating to look at if you haven't done it before.

His profile says he has an '05 which means rear disc brakes. Won't be all that different than doing the fronts (I assume, since I have an '02 with rear drum brakes).

If you can do the fronts you can do the rear brakes. I've done brakes on all my last 4 vehicles without much trouble (save my last attempt which I posted about 2 months ago). I feel that after changing your own oil, brakes are the next easiest way to save money.

Yup I have the disk rears. The only thing I can see that might mess me up would be the parking brake. Do I have to do anything to it, like adjusting it somehow? Other then that I think I should be good to go. Did the fronts about two months ago and it was pretty easy other then the one pad not wanting to go in properly lol

The parking brakes are shoe brakes inside the rotor housing in the rear. Unless you feel you need to check, or replace them, they can be ignored while replacing the pads in the rear.

Of course, if you feel the need to turn the rotors as part of the basic disc pad replacement, you will have the opportunity to inspect the shoes.

Thanks for the hep guys! It rained here today so I didn't get the chance to do them. Looks like I'm going to have to wait until my vacation to get it done. Meh starts on Monday so not too long away.
