Rear door won't open

I bought a used 05 Sport Trac. I love the darn thing, but the rear passenger door will not open from the inside or out. The lock knob is down inside the door and I cannot get it with pliers. Any suggestions?

Check if the "childproof door lock" levers are in the down position. (Page 79)

If childproof levers are down you may need to remove the door panel to check the latch, actuator, and connectors for issues.
