wats up, new member looking for alittle help!

what is the best way to remove, and replace the rear end fluid.

i have an 04 2wd xlt, what fluid does factory use?

also what is the factory tranny fluid?

thank you

Take out the bottem four bolts. then start loosening the other 6, but dont take them out. then use a flat head and pry the bottem of the diff cover so that you break the seal and the fluid can drain. once its drained you can take all the bolts off and inspect every thing then you can run a new bead of rtv silicone on the edge of the pan and bolt it back up. then go in the back of the axle on the drivers side and youll see a 1/2 squar plug. use a 1/2 ratchet with an extension to remove the plug. then you can go head a fill up the diff till oil starts coming out. then you can put the plug back and ur ready to rock!!

The fluid is 85 or 95w140 synthetic.... IF yours is a limited slip you MUST put in a bottle of the friction additive first..
