Does anyone know why both of my rear speakers aren't working? I checked the connection to the speakers and the radio which are fine. Which fuse # do the rear speakers go to??? Thanks in advance! :banghead:

Not sure if there is a speaker fuse.

Not to sound dumb, but. Have you checked to see if your front to rear fade is working. Maybe some one moved it to front only.

What HD unit do you have. Mine is the 6disc audiophile. I can even go into the menu and set it for front or rear only, plus fade.

If all that is good. If you have a digital VOM. See if you have any dcv at one of the rear speakers. I dont know how much. It would vary with volume.

If there is non at all. you have a wiring break or that chanel is burned out.

Eddie's on the right track, no speaker fuses. The radio fuses are 2.8,2.27 and 2.29 in the Central Junction Box (see below). So most likely, fader control or internal failure since front and rear speakers are in the same connector.

Thanks Eddie & Paul! Yes, I did check the fade. That was the first thing I checked because I thought someone messed with the radio. I put all the volume to the rear, then checked left side only, then right side to see whether it was just one speaker or both. I find it weird that both went out at the same time, but I guess possible. I'll check to see if any power is going back there at all. That might be the case. Thanks again!! :supercool::banana:

I'd say it's more likely that the outputs failed on the radio then both speakers going simultaneously (assuming it's not a wiring issue)

The rear speakers might be off due to a setting on the rear console. More specifically the headphone jacks. If they are present, a false signal that a headphone jack is used may trigger the rear speakers to be off.

To rule out a false signal from the rear controls, press 1 and 3 buttons on the radio at the same time to disconnect/override the rear controls.
