Found a broken lug on a rear tire of my 03 sport trac. Is there a trick to replacing the PIA part? I have removed the broken piece from the hub but cannot find a way to insert the new one. Any help would be appreciated as the truck is on blocks as I am typing this.

Remove brakes and rotor. Have to insert through hole in back, Use a different nut and washer to impact gun it on and re assemble..

Thanks Todd, I didn't notice a hole anywhere but will check again. BTW did you mean the brake caliper and pads or the emergency brake shoes? I love this sight

Ok thx for the response Vic, but I saw that video. Since the sport trac has rear disc with an internal drum for the e brake and a large splash shield I cant just reach behind the hub to insert the new lug. That is the question , how to reinsert the new lug. Do you need to pull out the axle to get room as on a F150? or do you have to remove the e brake shoes?

Tyler, you need to pull the rotor off the hub, then there should be enough room for the new lug stud. This video shows how to remove the brake caliper and rotor. You should not need to remove the parking brakes shoes.
