Thinking of having my drivers seat reupholstered, the leather is showing it's age and the foam could use a little attention. I've heard that you can buy factory seat covers sometimes still, I just look on our sponsors parts catalog and it looks like they are discontinued. Has anyone else done this? How did you do it and if you went to an upholstery shop were they able to match the leather?

Check with a local upholstery shop. The cost of a new Ford leather seat cover is probably so over priced, you can have both front seats upholstered with better quality leather.

Most upholstery shops can very closely match the color and texture of the Ford leather or fabric and they will use the original seat covers as a pattern, so it's pretty quick and easy for them.

My late wife burned a hole in the drivers seat of my old Honda when it was only about 4 months old. My insurance covered it (minus my deductible)...The cover for just the seat cushion was $269 and the labor to install it was only $65. My guess is that the Ford leather seat cover for the seat and back would be in the $400 range, maybe more. A good upholstery shop could match the color and duplicate the seat pattern for that money and do both front seats for about the same price as you would pay just for the drivers seat cover...and replace the foam rubber where needed

I agree with rich. Also an upholtery shop can shape your foam. as so it is more comfortable, better bolsters, etc. Still match the oem cover on top of that. Al for less $$$.

The leather ones from ford are over $600.00 a piece !! you need 4 for the front !......An upholstery place has close to perfect colors and styles and can do a good job !!..... plus the factory ford leather stinks !!!

I spoke with a guy that does upholstery and he said most of the time he can just do the worn section and usually match the existing quite well. Just gotta find time to go out and have him look at it for a quote.

Are they still available from ford? I looked before and thought they were NA

I need to drivers seat lower foam. I have one that ford sent but its not for the early models.

I would thin have the bolster redone
