Just out of being curious, I thought I would try to do some research on remote starter kits. So I would guess that it would be nearly impossible to find a Factory OEM kit. So am curious to those out there that have experience or to those who have remote starter kits on their ST's where or what kind of kit do you have. I found one on eBay that sounds interesting without having to add another remote.

Thanks for any info.

I have had a Ultrastart on my 02 St since i bought in 2003, about 2 years after buying it quit working. I went back to installing dealer and they took about 15 min to change the brain "no charge" no problems since.

I have a Compustar remote starter on my 08 ST installed when St purchased in 09.

Compustar unit has 2 way communication so that confirms truck is started and continues to show it running as long as truck is running. I had one remote fail on this unit after warranty and had to buy a new one.

I would recommend the 2 way communication units especially if parked where you cannot see truck.

I have found that 3rd party starters have a much longer range than factory units.

I have a viper in my 03, an audiovox in my 04 and Ford OEM on my 2010...

Hmm, thanks for the replies. I am just curious mainly because dad just purchased one for my mother this past weekend for her birthday on her escape. My girl friend wants one for her civic and I thought about getting one for my sport trac. So basically any kit will technically work. Are any name brands I should be on look out gr or will just about any do?

Don't forget you are going to need a bypass for the stock ignition. Well you will need one only if you have a stock starter kill on your truck. Basically it's a small box that "tricks" the stock ignition into thinking there is a key in the ignition. it only is active for a couple seconds while the truck remote starts. install shops want anywhere from 50 to 100 bucks for them.
