I was just wondering what technique people used to remove springs without a spring compressor. My buddy wants to remove his from his car.

Does he want to reuse them....???

Saws all, Cutting torch.....

Not going to be able to replace them without a compressor, unless he has a spring shop steel band them compressed.. Which is very dangerous...

Luck and a prayer; and a really long pry bar.

Try to remove as much stress as possible, sometimes you can remove enough pressure to where the spring will slip out easily, with no spectacle.
