Greetings! I have written here before about the problem My wife was having with her SUV Ford Expedition. The SUV was staling off and on. Some of you gave me good suggestions. Here is the follow up. One big garage near my home could not find the problem. The Ford dealer found the problem. The problem has something to do with IAC - Idle Air Control valve. The garage also did something with Throttle Air. Total cost was about five hundred dollars.

Does this amount sound excessive to you? With thanks.

Really hate to tell you...IAC is only $60.00 without our discount through Rusty!!

Uh, I bought one for $53 and installed it in 2 minutes for free.

Check the itemized bill and see what throttle air work they did.

Same here..only took a few minutes to install!! Took longer to get the socket out and put it back.

Well without all the details I would say you did not get a fair deal.

As noted above the IAC is pretty affordable, $60.00 on average. The remove and installation is one of the easiest items to swap out on the Explorer.

At my shop to do the job with nothing else it would have been $50.00 for labor as that is our minimum if we plug into your vehicle plus $74.31 for the part.

In your case I would have suggested an pressurized fuel injection cleaning removing the Throttle Body and cleaning it as well. We charge $159.00 for that. But we do it right!!!! It takes about 2 hours to complete it the very best way that we know of.

I remember telling you it was the IAC valve... Sounds like they nailed you diagnostic time, labor, LUNCH and any other thing they could think of....

I would say High, BUT they gave you a bill right??? What did they charge you for??
