I did. The sun roof only limits how high the mounting screws can be. The sun roof slides about 1/2 an inch above the head liner. The usual method of mounting overhead monitors is sending a screw through the bottom and putting a nut on the top side allowing access screw length to be arbitrary.
Since the sun roof is there, I reversed the screw position so the head was on the topside and the nut was on the bottom, that way the mounting system would never touch the sliding sun roof.
I also went to ace hardware and bought large sheet metal plates. These were used on the top side of the head liner to spread out the weight of the monitor; preventing the head liner from sagging and from bouncing while driving.
As far as position of the monitor: I mounted the monitor about 3 inches back from the sun roof trim and centered from right to left. At this position the head liner was the flattest and the shroud needed less trimming. The viewing angle is prefect for the rear passengers.
