Alright guys I'm having some trouble here. I want to repackage my front wheel bearings. I have a 2wd 05 sport trac so it should be easy right... I can get the caliper off but for some reason I can not get the caliper bracket off. I know I need to take the caliper bracket off to take the rotor off in order to get to the wheel bearings. here are some pics of the bolts which I would only imagine go to the caliper bracket, I can see no other bolts.

What gets me is that I have looked at diagrams, even different years, and none have the same set up as mine which makes me doubt that these are the two bolts I should take out but they are the only ones connected to the caliper bracket. I have tried lube, pounding on my socket wrench and nothing. Any ideas?

Those are them......

Are you turning them the correct direction ??? Some times when looking at it back words you can go the wrong way and your actually tightening them...

I know for me, my driver side wheel bearings were just slightly loose. I could tell because when I jacked up the truck and pulled on the tire it would jostle just a little. Not a terrible amount but just a little movement. When there is squeaking then you just need to replace the whole set.

Todd I have tried both direction haha.

Ed,

Or ME hanging on the end of the ratchet !!..... LOL...... OHH and they are tight as ford so nicely puts RED lock tight on those bolts...

I use ( i believe 15mm) and a 1/2 drive....
