rough idle

got the famous engine codes p0171&p0174. replaced elbow,cleaned IAC,cleaned throttle body and cleaned MAP SENSOR.STILL GETTING THE SAME CODES.. tried spraying water all around engine,no help.plugs have 54,000 miles on them.fuel filter 12000 miles.wires less than 5000 miles.2001 job 2 133,000 miles. ign.coil 8000 miles. new fuel pump,last year.engine has no power on takeoff.rough idle.has problem getting up to speed.

Did you clear the codes ??? or just re check ???



How is your fuel filter ??



Are all the connections on the MAF and intake ok ?? Breather tube ??

cleared codes, all connections are good. fuel filter is fairly new 12000 miles since changed. would a clogged filter give me the codes p0171-p0174?

FIXED !!!! never thought that a bad ignition coil would keep sending the P0171 & P0174 codes. an old ford tech,looked at it and said to check the coil.checked it, changed it. no more codes!!!:huh:

If you wanna know the reason a bad coil gives you lean codes here goes. If you have poor ignition all of the oxygen in the cylinders doesn't get used up during ignition, the O2 sensor picks up on the O2 adn therefore thinks it's lean. Realistically thugh I would have expected your truck to run like total crap if this were the case but you never know
