Replaced a cracked PCV elbow a few weeks ago and thing were running great. Then I noticed some carbon burning. I had the fule system cleaned and smell went away and ran great. Then this morning it started running rough. Check engine light blinks indicating a misfire.

Change plugs and wires? I have owned the truck for 2 years. Don't know when they were last replaced. There motorcraft wires. For all i know they could be the originals

Trac just hit 75k 2001 job2

At 74K I would go with wires and plugs. I dont like waiting till 100K. Could still have a vacuum leak also. Check connections.

Try cleaning the IAC. In the project section.

Once in a while the Trac seems to have a problem when started, running rough and no power. Usually a shutdown and restart will cure it. Really annoying, but at least it's easy to fix. Hasn't happened to me in a long time, maybe as much as 100,000 miles. Pushing 240,000 miles now.
