Need to get this off my chest. While I lead my comfortable existence, and focus on the fine points of my Sport Trac, reality set in yesterday as I was involved in a flight line ceremony to pay our respects to a fallen brother in arms. The body of Pfc. John F. Landry Jr., of Lowell, Mass was flown into Hanscom AFB, MA, where our squadron is located. Pfc Landry was one of four soldiers killed March 17th in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Bliss, Texas. In spite of our personal feelings about the war, I somehow feel that most Americans have forgotten that there's a war going on. During my many years of involvement with the military, I have seen the quiet, admirable commitment of the young men and women who volunteer to be on the front line of the war. Pfc Landry was 20 years old
