Last week I installed the docking stations for my Sat radio in both my trucks. I also ran the antenna wire to the roof via the front of the truck. This way there was no taking apart the interior and no 3rd brake light issues.
I did this on both console choices, my shorty console was done at night and I rushed to install it. I think the long console install came out better.
Any way I thought I would share so people can see how I did it and maybe use the same route.
This route is also great for installing roof rack lights.
Roof mounted
[Broken External Image]:
Slide out door weather stripping and slide the antenna wire in
[Broken External Image]:
I slid some loom over the wire and pushed it into the space in the fender and ran it into the engine bay.
[Broken External Image]:
Here you can not even see the wire
[Broken External Image]:
This is the gromet i pulled the wire into the cab with. Just zip tied it up and ran it to the console

long console mount. I modified the bracket and screwed it to the console

Short mount, This was the windshield mount I screwed to the console.
This allowes me to use the ash tray and the storage as well.
