The radio in my '05 has an SAT button on it. My kids want to buy me a satellite subscription. I don't have the original radio book so I'm told I need a code to give to the SAT company so I can get it activated. Am I on the right track??? Wil a dealer help me or will there be some additional charges involved??

Don't have the factory sat install in my ST but if it is like every other sat radio, tune to channel 0 and it will give you the radio serial number. That is the number you give to Sirius for activation.

The radio itself will give you the code you need...

My '04 has the sat button also. You will have to install the sat radio and antenna though. it was a dealer option, add on....

Thanks for the input guys but how can I tune my radio to 000. I hit the SAT button and screen say NO SAT. I change the radio but it only goes to from where stations begin and end not 000 throuhg 9999. This is the Pioneer radio that came with the Premium model in 05. Also can I get the antenna at the dealer or from Sirius? I saw some kits on the internet. All additional input will be appreciated.

Your Electronic Serial Number (ESN), also known as a SID can be found in a variety of places. Here's where you can find it:



Factory/Dealer Installed

This can always be found on the radio display though locations can vary by make and model of vehicle. Please check Owners Manual under Radio (see "Satellite Radio ESN Retrieval").



Aftermarket In-Dash Radio

Varies depending upon manufacturer. Please see Owners Manual under "ESN Retrieval".



Plug & Play

Look in the "Menu" function under Radio ID or look on the radio packaging for a barcode like the one below.

I was under the impression that the radios were sat ready but in order to get actual sat radio a sat module and an antennae were required..purchased seperately from the dealer of course
