I went also. I have to say that after seeing it in person, I was impressed. The model on display was an XLT 4X4 V8, as opposed to the Limited that we've seen up to this point.
TrucTrac--I think it was introuduced that way because the tailgate badge says "Sport Trac", with a smaller "Explorer" logo beneath, pretty much a reverse the way ours are.
STCTC--Those are different wheels, because this one was an XLT. Ford debuted a Limited model in Dallas.
As far as the cladding color, the little brochure they were handing out listed the front/rear cladding and fender molding as "Onyx Grey", and the roof rails, side steps, bed cover, bed, and tie downs as black. If you look closely at them, they are a different color. I thought that was odd, because they would've looked better matched.
Other random observations:
--The interior is identical to the '07 Explorer, with the exception of the rubber floor. So check out and Explorer currently at a dealer if you want to see the new interior. The door handles are a little odd, they'd take some getting used to. Otherwise, the interior is nicely done.
--I know I'm in the minority here, but after seeing the front end in person, I like the chrome. At least I think it'll look good on the Limited model. Maybe they should make the XLT the Onyx Gray, Black, or body color.
--I like that the hitch is integrated/welded into the frame and that it comes with a six-pin wiring harness. Nice touch.
--The inner bed texture is slightly different. Almost like Line-X or non-skid.
--Still no fold-down armrest in the back seat. That would've been nice.
--The pockets are gone from the backs of the front seats.
--The headrests look like they might actually be useful again.
--The lack of opening rear window is a deal killer for me. Heck, even the Nissan Titan Crew Cab comes with this feature standard now, complete with an integrated defroster.
I also had a chance to check out and sit in rear seats of the competition (Nissan Frontier, Toyota Tacoma, Chevy Colorado, Mitsubishi Raider, and Honda Ridgeline), and only the Raider/Dakota and Ridgeline came close to having the rear seat room that our current or the new ST has.
--As far as the Ridgeline goes, I wasn't impressed. It is as ugly in person as in photos. My wife summed it up at first glance with two words:
"It's girly".
After seeing it today, I don't have the burning desire to trade my '04 Adrenalin in on a new ST just yet. The V8 would be nice, but the opening back window is one of my favorite features of the current Sport Trac. Also, I've invested a lot in modding my ST and have had fun doing so, and I ain't done yet!

Maybe a few years down the road, after they fix the window issue and I'm done with mine...
Here are a few pictures I took of the 2007 ST:
