ED,

I would sell the coil.

I would keep the wires. It will be the last set it will ever need.

Plus the wires could break taking them off the plugs.

I bought a set of used blue livewires. 2 wires were broken at the plug terminal.

I checked them with my VOM. I was able to repair them though.

It is a very gentil proccess with spiral core wires. Takes patience, stripping the jacket back and installing a new clip.

Not trying to rain on your sale. But spiral core wires, will last forever.

Eddie S, I agree that it's tedious project. I think I had to do the same thing. I bought a repair kit for one wire. That is why I have a set of replacemts with very low mileage on them.

Ed, is the coil the second generation one? I know the first ones had issues with failing pretty quickly. Also I might be interested in the stock wires... I need to do my plugs and wires soon as they have never been done before. What set of wires was repaired? The live or stock ones?

The coil may be first generation, it has not failed, I have had it for several years.

I damaged one of the boots on the Live Wires when regapping my plugs. The boot has since been repaired and works fine.

-What is different about my coil is the firing order is not exactly the same as the stock coil I swapped out. what is meant was, extra guidance from Todd Z. and following it.

-Trac has a nice start up idle with the Magna -Flow exhaust from Explorer Express and the truck really sings around 3,000 K rpm (the HP peak is a little steeper then)

Mr. Lunchbox, I will get a pic and specs on the stock plug wires. (I do know that they were purchsed from Advanced Auto Parts)

Check back 8 ish pm. today.
