This weekend my wife, Rose and I went to Wildwood NJ. It was Bikers weekend. We enjoyed following the bikers cause, as they passed each other, they each gave the same "secret wave", a low out streched hand with two fingers extended. Rose asked me if the ST'ers, ( refering to this web site), had a "secret wave". Are we missing out on someting?

We do have one. It seems you do not know it.

We are not able to explain it to you because then it would no longer be a secret.....

BTW...who has the ST "wave". Last time we had it, it was passed on to Rich Stern in Atlanta...haven't seen it since. Rich????

I've had very few ST'ers wave... I also own a Jeep Wrangler, and it's sacrilegious to NOT wave.. (In fact, the first day I drove it, some other Jeep owner waved.. and I didn't notice. My boyfriend said I violated the Jeep owner's creed..)

I've been told by another Jeep owner that Jeeps with hard tops are exempt from the wave, as most never do. (Mine has a bikini top.)

At one time someone started a "wave" thing where you'd drop the back window and then close it..

I am sorry to say but it seams in my area alot of ST drivers tend to be aloof and overall not very friendly. I have waved at several other ST'ers as I see them around town but always get the same look. You know that down your nose, head slightly cocked back, and that smirk that says what kind of dumb a$$ are you. I will continue to wave anyways, mabe some day I will run into a fellow site member and surely they will smile , wave and look at me like im some kind of dumb a$$ as well but atlest they waved back. ;)

I think the secret wave involves the middle finger. At least that's the wave I see the most!

yeah, this is important, the wave needs to be instituted in my area. I used to own a CJ-7, and havent felt the urge to wave at anyone with the same vehicle as me until I got my Trac. whats up? I dont think these people realize how cool they are for driving a ST;)

if you are in minneapolis or SE mn, and you see a red ST with a grill guard and a gear basket on top, WAVE!! ill buy you a beer.

Cyclists do the same wave and I find myself getting really irritated when someone rides past me on the other side of the road with their head down and not acknowledging anyone. You'll also get the wave from bikers when you give them some room in the carpool lane when they're passing- at least the nice ones will.

So is anyone going to start waving? I just got my ST a few months ago. Upgraded from a Ranger. The ST's are way cool, I thought for sure there would be a lot of waving going on. No ST owner has waved back yet. Why not? What's up with everyone these days?

My buddy has a Wrangler and always gets waves from other Wrangler owners. Are we going to let them have all the fun? I say let's show them up and all start waving to each other.

Seems trivil and unimportant I know, but it is a start.

A wave would be cool, but alas, Walter summed it up pretty well:

:(

The only other people I see in STs around here are in their 90s and do good just to keep it between the lines. I have waved at a few STs with no returns.
