Shallow Mount Subs

Just got my Alpine and I have been bitten by the stereo bug. Now I'm thinking subs. I think I can get a box built in town. I know I have little airspace in the Trac but I want to make it work. Do shallow mount subs sound just as good as full ones? Recommend and shallow mounts? I read today in Truckin' mag that RF is coming out with a shallow mount.

Check out the audio forums. Just going on brand and specs alone, those seem to be SPL subs ... you going for "sound" or just "boom"? Haven't seen many good reviews on Power Acoustik subs/speakers ... of the two I'd go w/the Pioneers or check out the earthquake subs.
