shifter problems

i am having a problem with shifting my tranny from park to another gear i have the truck running push the brake and have a fight to shift. if i play with it for awhile it will shift from park and i have no other problems with the other gears.

Try double pumping and holding the brake..Worked on wifes '01 escape

Do you hear the click near the shifter when you press the brake?

There is a pc. under the dash that has come lose or brok needs to be fixed and all will be good. Bill

i found that i can shift with the truck off with no problems so i shift to neutral then start the truck
