Everything went as planned. I just watched the launch on the NASA channel. May not seem like a big deal to some of you guys, but that's what I plan to be doing in about 10-15 years.

Yeah, I watched it live on TV. Awesome!

I love the new camera mounted on the main fuel tank, looking back toward the shuttle. I'd really like to watch a replay from that angle of the whole launch - watching Florida recede in the background, then the solid boosters breaking away, all the way to Shuttle separation.

I'll probably never get to see a launch in person, but if you ever get the chance to see "Hail Columbia" (an Omni Theater film of the first Shuttle launch: STS-1), you should. It's spectacular! In the film, when the solids light on liftoff, the sound is so incredible I could feel the rumble in my stomach. A very inspirational film.

I've studied the space shuttle systems since middle school. It was why when I went to college to be an engineer I wanted to be in aerospace engineering. I switch to electrical when job propects were low.

I am glad to see us back in space. I got up early to watch the landing in Feb of '03. I was nearly crying when there was no responce. My wife asked why I was in the condition I was in. I told her. She was about the same way. Seeing the footage of the clean up efforts picking up a mission patch and the scorched helmet is an image I will never forget.

I remember exactly what I was doing in 1986 with Challenger. I will remember what happened in 2003 with Columbia.

I always wanted to be an astronaut. I ended up going in a different direction, but Jeff C, if that's where you want to go, God bless. Keep up the dream.

God Speed Discovery, God Bless the Columbia 7.
