I have a CQDFX983U that claims to be sirius radio ready. Does anybody know what I would need to make it compatible. I don;t want one of those fm transmitter ones... there is a menu option on my deck for sirius Im just curious what I need. I was looking up the SIRPAN1C but it says its compatible for 2006 and up and my deck was made in 2003. Any help would be great. Thanks

Are you sure? I was under the impression that the new receivers used a square plug, where as mine (and yours) have a round cd changer plug. Have you hooked it up yet?

Found it: CR-SRT100 I have the unit, but the cable I have goes to a little control module, not to the back of the CD player like I'd like. I tried ordering one direct from Panasonic and they no longer make that cable. I've been checking a few other places too. I also thought of splicing that cable to a cd changer cable hoping that would work.

from what I understand the SIRPAN1 has 2 outlets, one for power and one for the deck, it leaves the module as a square plug but the other end is round. I went to the sirius website and looked at the install manual and it looks like the end shown on the cable is round like our inputs. Im going to try and find it locally and see if they will let me check out the cabling. I'll keep you updated with what I find, if you could do the same.

Just won my Sirius package for $19 shipped on eBay. Everything I'll need to hook up through my receiver including antenna and cables.

Yeah, that's it. No, it's not an FM modulator. You have a little brain unit that you plug in power and the antenna, and you run the audio and cd changer cable from the brain to the back of the head unit. I got shipping confirmation this morning so it should be here in a few days.

Well, just in case what you got doesn't work, here's a link to an auction by the same seller with some more units, starting at $9.99, which is what I paid plus s/h. Only thing is, I don't see antennas with this auction.

thanks... let me know how the nstall goes. If it goes off without a hitch I'll have to get one. Talked to panasonic and they said the SIR-PAN1 will work, I just need an experienced instaler to make a different cable for it.

Mine hooked up just fine and works great. Audio quality is excellent, remote works great, the only hard part is finding JUST one channel to listen to. I found myself flipping between 3-4 channels on the way home from ATL because I couldn't decide. Antenna runs out the 3rd light, down the column on the rear passenger side of the cab, comes out where the storage compartment would be, and then runs under my rear passenger seat on top of the Xbox and fits perfectly. This is definitely what you want as there is no need to make another cable and I bet it's a heck of a lot cheaper on eBay than the one you were looking at.
