Well, Since i am driving my 29 MPG escort every day it STILL SUCKS !!!....:p

I noticed that at the BP station gas was $3.05, across the street, at QuickTrip, it was $2.96.

It's bad enough our appeteit for oil is large enough, but with situations beyond our control having such a large impact, we're left grabbing straws and blaming everyone. Not much we can do but pay for it. Switching to alternative fuels/energies is still a young industry that's hampered from seemingly every angle. Ah, oh well, guess I'll worry about it when I've gotta get gas.

Hey, I was out in Montauk this weekend, where the highest I saw was 3.69, and the lowest was 3.55. I never thought I would look forward to filling up in NYC.

That sucks. I agree with what Tiger said. It seems as though we will not turn to alternative fuels until we completely run out of crude. I think it means that gas prices will just get higher and higher and never really reach a "comfortable" level again.

I need to buy a bike. The foot power kind.

Sorry, water is STILL cheaper than gas! I don't know about beer as I don't drink it. The article also read that there is no shortage of oil. It's just another reason to hike the price up per barrel.

I've started driving my 31MPG Vette. The ST sucks too much gas and I already have 10k miles on it since the end of March.

Dre,

And you drove right passed Mine, Georges, and Paul's houses and didn't even stop....:(

Sorry guys, totally unplanned last minute road trip to blow off some steam... literally. Drove out 4pm Sunday, got some chow, headed back by 9pm.

I couldn't stand the thought of going home and having to go back to work already.

31.85mpg in my daily driver Toyota Matrix. It is getting a bit painful to even fill that ride.

I fill my tank up once a week. I could care less about the prices because I like the room my Trac has to offer. My 32 MPG Escort is parked a minimum 6 days a week. About 20 MPG going to and from work and I love it.

Filled up today:

$2.99.9 a gallon...

385 miles traveled...

17.33 Gallons

$52.00 Dollar Fill-Up...

Do the math...

385 miles /17.3 gallons = 22.25 M.P.G.

I get this every week, and I drive in somewhat hilly terrain for 50% of my commute!

(Up and Down 5-8% grades).

It's Hilly here in Tennessee, where I live!!!

What are y'all doin to trash your M.P.G.?

I'm still at $2.84/gallon. The wife has been driving the Trac since she leaves the house maybe 2 times a week. I've been putting the miles on our 96 Taurus. 30MPG approx and it saves SOME money. I have about a 25 mile round trip commute so it's not really that big of a deal overall. The Taurus will go about 1.5 weeks if just going back and forth to work. The Trac will go about a week.

But when I heard about the Prudhoe Bay shutdown yesterday I made the wife bring the Trac in for a drink. The Taurus will get refreshed today along with the gas can for the lawn mower, weed eater, etc.

The office/shop is only 4.5 miles round trip commute from my house. If I have to do installs on-site I add to the price 35.00 for round trip driving to the customers location. None of my customers have complained about the price as it's cheaper than having them haul their rides to my shop.

The $65 fill-ups are getting old, especially with the 50 mile each way commute every day. And that doesn't include visits to other jobsites as needed! Thank God for that company gas card. $750 last month!

I would love to get something that uses less gas, but my company requires a truck. Even though they are paying for it, I still hate to use it if I don't need it.
