Basically, I got hurt two months ago and the hurt is NOT going away.

I am sure it is something fairly serious, just figured I could tuff it out.

I has gotten either no better or so small amount that it is not getting any better.

Simple things like, reaching out to push a button to change my radio station. I have had to change how I do that sort of motion otherwise I get severe shooting pains.

No way can I throw a ball or anything like that motion.

If I need to reach out or up, it is an issue.

So what do you think?

I have had the same problem for many years. Crashed racing my motorcycle in 2000, I am finally getting it fixed next month.

i have dislocated my shoulder three times playing ball and jus like you the pain never goes away... i would get some msm with glucosamine to lube the joint to see if that worked.. i will have to have surgery before long but gonna wait as long as possible before i do...

I have waited as long as I can for the most part. I will contact my Doc Monday and get an appointment to confirm what the issue is for sure. But I am betting that is what is wrong.

Guess an MRI is in my future...

I have thousands of hours of sick leave, so time off work is not an issue. I earn 6 hours every paycheck. In five years I have used 8 days of sick leave and that was all at one time while I was in the hospital for an internal bleeding issue. So time off with pay is not a concern, just a matter of doing it I guess...

I have had a torn rotaator repaired in my throwing shoulder about 10 years ago.

When it happened it felt like someone stuck a hot fire poker through my shoulder.

I continued to have major pain the shoulder for months. When I had partital movement. If i tried to lift it above my head I got some really bad pain. Also anything that require resistance pushing against something... Hurt really bad..

The biggest thing as time went by I got alot of popping from the Scare tissue build up.

In the end once they did surgery 14 months later... I had a torn Rotator and a torn Labrum.

10 years later and my Arm is only 70% what it used to be.... But still good enough for ball!! haha

Good luck!

Cheers

Whit

Kevin,

Symptoms are Pain and limited mobility of the arm'/;sholder joint.

I have injured both of my sholders. It made it hard to sleep since I could not find a comfortable place to put my arm. In the first case it was thought by my doctor that it was a torn rotator cuff. He gave me cordozone injections into the shoulder, but that did not help. So he sent me to physical therapy.

The young lady at PT found the problem immediately. It was not a rotator cuff but I had injured a muscle in my back/sholder. This caused my shoulder blade muscles to freeze up and my shoulder blade would not move. In my case I could not raise my arm above my shoulder. The shoulder blade must rotate upward to allow your arm to go above the shoulder.

In both cases (about 5 years apart) The first time it was my right shoulder the second time it was my left shoulder. The first injury was the worst and I suffered with it for about 6 months before I went to my doctor. I went to PT for about 2 months and the had to stretch the musles in my shoulder to release the shoulder blade. They also did some Ultra sonic message to help relax the muscles. The PT restored about 85%-90% of the mobility in my shoulder, but it took another six months to completely recover and regain 100% painfree motion in my arm/shoulder.

The first injury was caused by trying to start my chainsaw, and on several pulls the starter cord did not engage and I janked on the pullstarter expecting some resistance, and there was none. It was about two weeks later that my shoulder started to really bother me. The second time, I have no idea what I did, but the shoulder blade locked up again except it was not as bad, and I recognized the problem right away.

I just had surgery and actually in a sling right from shoulder surgery. I had a massive teat in my labrum and a large cyst growing in my shoulder capsule compressing everything. I really did not feel any pain until I had moved my arm into certain positions and especially when I slept on it.

let me get this straight........

you hurt your shoulder sleeping on planes ????? L:lol:L HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

Todd Z

I love you too Todd.

No, I was not sleeping. But I was on a plane. We were deplaning, I was standing waiting for the few in front of me to move. A lady pulled her VERRY heavy bag from the over head. I had my hand stretched out in front of me holding the top of the seat.

She dropped her bag on my bicept and my shoulder poped out of the socket.

Hmm, considering your shoulder popped out I would put my money on a pinched nerve or half torn ligament or maybe even seperated catalidge. It may sound stupid but your shoulder is fully in right? Because that would cause about the same symptoms your a experiencing. Thats just my teo cents. 8 dislocated shoulders and one surgery for me and another in the furture. Hope you figure it out!

I am assuming it is in based on how it feels now compared to how it felt at the moment of the "HOLY SH...."

But certainly there is a chance it is not seated properly.

I will for sure call the Doc on Monday and set up an appointment as it also for sure is not healing.

that happened to me about 2 years ago from baseball. i guess awkward movements from pitching caused it. slowed me down for a while i couldnt play. just bothered mostly. i probably didnt even tear it cause i neevr had surgery and dont feel liek i need it. i guess my pains went away with time since im young

Coastie,

My wife has some suggestions. (She's a Physical Therapist). I've sent you her contact information via email. She'll be glad to talk with you.
