Didn't have the setup for lowering the spare tire so went to bone yard and got 1 out of a 05 and was wondering should it work? I just want to make sure it will lower if needed.

Can you see the mechanism turning. If not Could be the gen1 and gen2 has a different slot, IDK.
If you see it turning, might be striped. Try soaking it with wd40, maybe..
