I see a few people mentioned changing their plugs and wires, but does anyone still change the distributor cap anymore? I have in the past, but haven't seen anyone here talk about it? Or is it just on carburetor vehicles?

Inquiring minds want to know!

The Trac is DIS, spark is controled by the computer to the coil packs..

It is not just carb equipped cars. Dad's motorhome (1997 Chassis) and my Escort GT (1996) have dist. caps. The sport Trac, and most other vehicles out there use a DIS (Distributorless Ignition System) which has a coil-pack. Some newer vehicles have eliminated the coil-pack and are now using a COP system. (Coil over plug)

There is no cap and rotor to replace.
