Went to ford and got new plugs - Motorcraft AGSF22FM. Book calls for AGSF22PGM. Ford says these are the replacements and the gap is .054. I checked the gaps on the new 22FM's and they are at .045. Does anyone know if these new plugs are suppose to be gapped or what the gap is suppose to be.... ANY thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated.

Yes they should be gapped at .054. Most plugs come pre-gapped between 40-50.

edit, oh, I work at a parts store and have gapped hundreds of plugs for customers who can't/don't want to do it themselves. Most brands (except for Bosch) come between 40-50.

The F stands for Fine. It has to go with the little piece of metal that makes the spark (the part that you use to set the gap). Fine (something ... I forget the other word) is the latest development in spark plugs.

Soon I will be able to run mine at .065.....:cool::cool::cool:
