hey whats up everyone, well i was just browsing around looking to upgrade my speakers and well i figured it is time. So i went to www.cutchfield.com and purchased 2 pairs of speakers (you will see them in the link) they are a sweet set of kenwoods that are on a super cheap sale as well as they come with the wiring harness to help with the ease of the install. They will be here tuesday so i will probably do a "project" and see how they sound. What do you guys think? any info or input is always cool with me.

Nice, always liked Kenwood. I have Kickers in ine only because I got a hell of a deal and was returning a broken portable DVD player under warrenty. The one they gave me in return was less than what I paid, so store credit only. Enjoy.;)

They look nice, hope they sound good. the price is certainly right. should make a big difference if you are upgrading from stock.

take your time with the door panels so you dont break any plastic clips. and be sure to wrap those plastic connectors in electrical tape, they get wet from water comming down off the window.

Not a bad speaker.

I'm partial to JL Audio, Hertz, Image Dynamics and Cadence. Basically in order of price there.

I would strongly suggest getting a 4 channel amp for your front stage. It makes a profound difference in sound quality.

It's my opinion that if you switch from a stock "paper" speaker, you should amp them. I've never seen much of a difference in sound quality just by replacing the stock speakers. Then again, I demand a lot more out of my listening experiance than most people.

With my F150 I changed the factory speakers out to a pair of Cadence aftermarket units and they actually sounded worse because the cone and motor structure was a lot heavier. So I got a decent 60.4 amp and it made a massive difference. You wouldn't need to run new speaker wires if you kept the amp around that power range.

We amped my fiance's stock WRX speakers and it sounds like night and day better.

You could also replace your head unit with someone with better sound processing that also has a built in amplifier. Although this will be a pretty small difference over stock.

Honestly, you will probably be ok with a good set of clear plastic electrical crimp connectors and some tape. That gives you a professional, high quality connection and resist moisture.
