Hello:

Nearly done my Pioneer Avic Z-120BT install but have not connected the 'Car Speed Signal Input' wire from the Pioneer as my Pioneer seller said it's not needed.

But I question that since my conversion harness connecting to the Ford radio harness has a 'VSS Wire'. Should I just connect the Pioneer's Car Speed Signal Input to the VSS Wire or are there other wires in the ST's radio/main harness that would be correct?

Hope this makes sense?

Thanks, B3

I have the Pioneer AVIC-Z3 installed in my 07ST. The VSS Wire connection is NOT required, however is does slightly increase the accuracy of the unit. It's soooo long since mine was installed (4yrs) that I don't remember the details. I do remember that the VSS wire can be found in the wiring harness for the windshield wipers. If my memory serves me rite, I think it is a purple wire. The windshield wipers use the VSS input for the variable speed function. Anyway, if you do a search on the subject you should find the details. It was discussed many times shortly after the Gen 2 was released and we started the audio/video upgrades:banana:
