how do you remove the stock shift knob, mine doesnt seem to want to turn off,is there a trick to it ????i tride turning it off but it doesnt even budge the shift knob and shaft seems to bend(its a stick shift)

Most Ford shift knobs are just stuck on with pressure. The shifter shaft is splined, so the knob won't turn. You will have to pull straight up on the knob with ALOT of force to get it off the first time.

My bronco II ( same shifter as the ST) you had to relay Yank on that thing to get it off....

I wound up kneeling on the front seats and yanking with my back to get it....

OR a good rubber mallet and a piece of wood from underneath...

The shifter knob does not turn off it is glued on. One member did manage to remove it the hard way but stated he would never do it again. You have to remove the entire shifter shaft. Maybe using a heat gun you can soften the glue, take your time if you go this route so you don't damage the knob in case you can't get it off.
