Well, after 4 times in the shop for stalling problems, amounting to over a month in service with radio, door, gas, and other defects, my local ford company is buying my trac back for what I paid for it! They are also making me a deal on a 2005 Toyota Tundra SR5 4x4 w/ leather and enki rims, hard tonneau cover and the truck only has 4,000 miles. They are giving the Tundra to me for 26,000... kbb says it should retail for 35,000 used.

The owner of the company knows us very well and said she wants me happy and is willing to take a loss since my father's company buys many trucks from her company.

Anyway, Bye Bye ST... hello Toyota!! :)

Thanks, Josh

PS My brush guard is up for sale too :)

Hey Josh, good luck with the next one. Keep us updated on the Toyota. My F150 seems to be working out well after my lemon ST, (after a few initial hickups that is).

Hopefully you'll stick around Josh. Sorry you had to depart with the ST (again) but I hope the Toyota works out great for you.

Thank goodness it's grey :D

lol

Thanks guys. I'll still hang around. Think of me as "that dreaded guy who doesn't even own a trac yet still posts."

;)

LoL Josh... I'm also a Toyota owner who doesn't even own a Trac yet still posts :)

Going on 2.5 years of completely trouble-free service from my Toyota. I couldn't even tell you the name of the service manager at the dealership I bought it from - just the way I like things. :)

ummm.... no comment...

We have to vote in a new site chief now, Josh, you must own an ST to hold an office :)

I hope FORD hears about your story. You sure have been through the ringer with trucks.

Good luck with the Toyo :)

I'm pretty sure that the used Toyota will be a better vehicle than any brand new Ford. I will never buy another Ford, when my wife needed a new car. she liked the Escape, but previous problems with my ST and Ford's lack of customer sevice we said no more Ford products. We went with Toyota. My Brother and his wife had the same luck with their F150 and when it came time to buy a new vehicle, it wasn't a Ford.

Ford just doesn't get it, multiply this senario thousands of times and that a lot of lost sales!

I have the Same thoughts as Q..why is an 4k mile '05 on the lot...

Hope it is not lemon for lemon...

Good Luck....

David, I feel the exact opposite way. I've had no major problems with my ST, and we got it in '00. It's an '01 Job2. My next vehicle will be a Ford; I'm hoping to get a Focus or Mustang in the spring as a daily driver, so I can have a little more fun with my ST (read: supercharger :D).

Thanks for your concerns.

I can not type all the details on my ordeal, but it's a lot... and yes, after working numbers it comes out that they are giving me the truck for what they paid.

I paid w/ xplan, other rebates: 18,900 for my Trac... they are giving me $18,900 for Trac. (zero loss)

Tundra values at 35,000 suggested USED retail (close to $40,000 new). They are selling it to me for $26,000 ($27,000 out the door w/ tag, title...ect). She also said that the 26k is what they gave for it when the person traded. (note: they gave me 24k for my titan w/ 4,000 miles and it was a 33k truck new, so this does sound correct).

And this person isn't "just a sales person," she is a friend of out family and does a hell of a lot of business with my family, so I think she may do me a better deal than average-joe, not to mention she owns the dealership.

Anyway, I LOVED my 2001 ST, wish I never traded it.. but Ford needs to work on their quality issues too.. I couldn't see me putting more money into Ford... not to mention my Trac was a hazard and it kept stalling... radio is on back order (Adrenalin), it's been 7 weeks since it broke... I one hell of a rattle coming from the dash, my door locks make noise and one had to be replaced...

Anyway, I do think Ford does a good job when they do, but there is no excuse for hunk of junk like my 2004.

Thanks again, and please dont think I am bashing every ST; I'm not, but I do think mine is a POS.

Josh

Unless I am missing something, were are they getting me? It sounds good.

My Dad has an '02 Tundra (white!) and has not had any problems with it after about 75,000 miles. He beats the heck out of it on the farm, doesn't maintain it all that well, and I have used it to haul a huge bobcat on a heavy equipment trailer that I rented to do some yardwork. (The back end of the tundra would raise or lower about 18" depending on where I parked the bobcat on the trailer! It was awesome! However, I was damn careful about driving through town and anticipating every stop and brake application!) After all this abuse, it still runs smooth and very quiet inside, with lots of power.

Best of luck to your Josh. I feel your pain. I do have one problem with your story though. I thought I was the dreaded guy who didn't own a Trac but still posted... Get it right!!
