Can anyone tell me what size of speakers fit the doors in a 2004 ST.

I dont get mine till next week and i took the speakers out of my Ranger that are 5x7.

Just bought them 3 months ago so im hoping to reuse them cause they were expensive.

The ones in the front doors are expensive ones too so im wondering if i should go to the hassle of removing them as well.

On another note:

i was at the dealership and pulled the back seat forward and noticed there is a 8" sub in there. So im guessing this has the factory 210 watt upgrade audio system? The deck is the 6 cd changer but it doesnt play MP3 cd's.

there is room for 2 speakers per back door for a total of 8 speakers.

I see most are putting them under the back seats. Just wondering why... because there are spaces for them behind the pull down seats.

Was looking at the VR3 car audio players on Ebay as well. Anyone try one?

Soon to be a ST owner

well if I know ford like I think I do, then I can say confidently that the speakers are 5x7 (6x8) oval in both the front and the back. not sure about the sub because I didn't get that option on my trac. I did however in the first couple weeks pull all 4 of the factory speakers out and replaced them with my 5x7s that I had put in my ranger, direct fit. so you should be ok to get them in your trac.

Thanks that helps because someone coming to look at my ranger to buy in 10 minutes.

its funny how former Ranger owners end up buying a Sport Trac.

I spent alot of time on Carreview.com and previous vehicles were mostly Rangers.

i liked my ranger a lot, it just didn't have the umph to pull two wave runners down the interstate very good nor up a wet boat ramp. The ST however, pulls them very nicely in all conditions I have encountered.

I liked my Ranger too but problem was i live in Canada where we get bad winter for 4 months and 2 wheel drive and no weight it wouldn't go anywhere. Im wondering also if this ST has the upgraded sound system then would it have cheap ford speakers in all the doors or upgraded ones.

You Americans are lucky you can get a 2005 Sport Trac XLT Premium Leather package and low K for under $20,000. In Canada its more like $26,000 but rare and hard to find for sale. Plus 11% tax to boot. So taking as much stereo from my truck is going to help.;)

My '05 fit the full 6x9s without cutting. They were tight, but fit without any rattles

or mods. :
