Just as others have said, it is noting more then to get you to come in the dealer to look at new vehicles.
Theresa works at a Ford dealer. When they are having a slow day, they are told to start calling customers that have purchased a car from them in the past three years. They figure the average new car buyer likes to get a new one every 3 years, usually when the warranty runs out. So they call the first guy, and say "We are looking for nice used Sport Trac's and we are wanting you to stop in to appraise your vehicle and make you a deal on a new one". The next person they call, "We are looking for nice used f-250's and are interested in yours, please stop in so we can offer you a great price on yours and make you a heck of a deal for something new". They usuallly get a $100.00 cash bonus if someone comes in that they called and buys a car, new or used.
They butter you up thinking that you are the type of owner that they are looking for to get great used cars.
They know better then to call me.
