First, try this.
Push down SLIGHTLY on the gas pedal and start the Trac. If it starts and stays running then you have one of two issues. Either the IAC is dirty or defective and or the Air Temp Sensor is bad. And no it may not throw a code.
Why,,, because the sensor may still be within specs. How it does this is when it goes defective and tell the trac it is warm, like 180 degrees for example.
If this happens, it tells the ECM that the engine is warm and therefore needs less fuel. Well, at startup when the engine is cold, you need more fuel. Basically, this replaced the choke from years ago...
There is a project to clean the IAC. Do it first as it is free and I am sure you need it no matter the issue.
