How hard is it to replace the stock leather steering wheel cover? Mine has been damaged for a while, and I am just now getting around to replacing it. Has the quality of the leather gotten any better? I have an '02, and it didn't last but about a year before it started looking bad.

Jneu - I'm in the same boat as you. However, I have a 75K warranty and they are supposed to be fixing the steering wheel today, along with inspection and my fourth attempt at getting the brakes fixed. There is a TSB on the leather steering wheel. Sorry I can't answer your question but at least you know it's not just you. From what I've heard...it's not easy, as in, It should be done by professionals.

You can do it your self if you have a steering wheel puller and are not afraid of messing with an airbag...

I think the new one from a dealer is over 200 bucks..

Just found out because of my extended warrant, they are replacing the entire steering wheel under the TSB. It will only cost me the $50 deductible. Beats the $200 or the potential aggravation of a steering wheel puller + materials.
