step bar rust problem

my pinch welds are rusted to s**t and I have the factor step bars that I want to put on again. how can I attach them without welding? the holes where the bolts used to go through are pretty much rusted gone. thanks!

Without seeing them. My guess is. Some welded plates and new holes drilled are in order.

Or...look for a used set on Craig's list? They show up from time to time.



I actually nursed a set of explorer step bars onto my sport trac (which did not originally come with step bars).



They don't drop as low as the trac step bars but they are good enough. I think i had to re-drill for the center bracket.



For $30 bucks i'm not complaining.

I bought new stainless-steel step bars on eBay several years ago, and I've been happy with them. They only attach at two points, not three, but that's good enough.
