I've been looking for new bushings for my leaf springs. So just for laughs i called the local ford dealer. $426 is what he quoted me for new springs....per side. And he tells me that the bushings are part of the leaf spring and cant be replaced. I know there are aftermarket bushings out there. I just want to put in the new shackles I got like three weeks ago now!!!

I don't believe the OEMs are other then typical rubber. As long as the OD, ID and width are the same, I don't know of a problem using what you find. Maybe get them used from a yard.

I replaced the bushings on my 93 Explorer rear leafs years ago with a set from Energy Suspension. I'm doubt the leafs have changed since then, try checking out their online catalog. Even if they don't have the ST listed you may be able to just check the dimensions and see if they look right.

Price would be the determining factor for me. The urethane products tend to be less expensive than rubber, but they have minor drawbacks. Considering that the OEMs (or a similar replacement) last ten years or so, if they were about the same cost as urethane, I'd go with the rubber.

Just checked and $72.00 for the set isn't bad.

I found a spring shop....they are going to look at the truck next friday and see what can be done. And might be able to fix the dreaded squeaking in the leaf springs.
