I did a search and did not find my answer (maybe I am not using the search engine correctly).

2001 IB ST built Nov. 2000, over 79Kmiles

The foam in my drivers seat left side (next to the door) seems to be crushed, so it feels like I am sitting and leaning towards the window.

My question is, can I swap the passerger and drivers seat (both seats are manual adjustments).

After almost 5 full years of ownership (as of Dec. 23) this is my only real complaint about my ST.:(

Thanks

Laura

Your recline handle will be on the wrong side. Your best bet will be to go to an upholstery shop. You might be surprised at the price (in a good way) They can install a new foam bottom for you.

You could swap out just the foam between the seats, save yourself some cash in the process. The removal and teardown of the seats aren't that difficult, a few hours and you should have it done. Seats these days don't use hog-rings, so taking the seat covers off needn't worry you.

I second the option to replace the foam.

Take the seat to an auto upholsterer, they can do it, and build it to your specs.

If you want more lumbar support, firmer, softer...

I don't know about the ST, but the new style F150 uses Hog-rings.

The new new ones? I'm surprised to hear that. I know the ST/Ranger/Explorer doesn't, from at least 2001 on up. It's all J-clips and velcro.

Either way, just cut the hog rings off, and a set of hog ring pliers and 100 rings are pretty inexpensive. I had to get some when I recovered my Probe seats.

Yup, the new new new ones. I have read about it at F150online because of people that are switching from cloth to leather.

Still , can you switch the seats ? The gap between the back and the bottom of my drivers seat is getting wider, my seat frame is bending . Can I swap my seats around ?

Like I wrote above, your seat controls will be on the wrong side.

I agree with Tiger and the others. Getting a trim shop to make a new seat foam or repair the old one is a much better option and probably would not cost over $100, maybe less.
