Synthetic Oil Cahnge Frequency

Motorcraft oil is "Semi-Synthetic" or as they call it Synthetic Blend correct? I use it in my 01 Trac, my Daughters 01 Taurus, and my Wifes 04 Freestar. I try to change them all every 3K miles but from reading this, would every 5 K miles be OK for Synthetic Blend? Sure would save me time and money.



The Trac has 108,000 on it, the Taurus 117,000, and the Freestar 74,000 miles.

Motorcraft is a blend, yes. I have run it for 5000 miles in my previous Trac and my wife's Taurus, got Used Oil Analysis (UOA's) from Blackstone Labs, and the results for viscosity and wear metals were fine. I use either Motorcraft or NAPA Gold filters.

actually motorcraft has a full synthetic now...



saw it last thursday when i was getting my bumber readjusted...
