Techron stopped pinging

My 2001 Job 1 had been pinging under acceleration and when going up hill.



I drive mostly short trips, so I guessed that maybe deposits of some kind were accumulating and causing the pinging. So I bought a bottle of Techron, and it worked!



One bottle of Techron in 10 gallons of gas, and the pinging was gone.

But how is your gas mileage now? The reason I ask, I was given 2 cases once & used it in my 2001 ST, our son's 2005 ST, my wife's Maxima & my parent's Mercury Villager van & none of the 4 vehicles have ever gotten back to the mpg they were getting before I ran that stuff through them. Well, I drive my ST very few miles (which is probably while I had deposits). Since I don't drive it much, I actually don't care that much what my gas mileage is. But since you mentioned it, I'll be sure to check that the next time I fill up.
